Growing Marijuana From Seed
The word “seed” refers to the actual or potential plant material. Many people refer to marijuana buds as marijuana “pot” because of the similarity in the names, and the potency and quality of the buds. Marijuana buds contain the plant’s main psychoactive ingredient, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is found in only about 15% of all marijuana. Other substances such as cannabinol (CBN) may also be present. CBN is the substance that is most associated with the “high”euphoria” that many marijuana users experience when they smoke marijuana.
Marijuana is one of the world’s most popular and widely used illegal drugs. Although it is the most heavily regulated drug, marijuana is still available in many parts of the United States. Many users also grow their own marijuana plants at home, in their yards, or in their own gardens.
Marijuana is known as cannabis sativa, which is also the scientific name for marijuana. Marijuana sativa grows in a variety of environments, including sun, shade, dry soil, and in containers. The name “sativa” means “flowering,” and is a reference to the time in the plant’s life when the flowers are fully developed. It is widely grown in Europe, Australia, and in the United States as “medical marijuana.” In recent years, however, several countries have begun banning growing marijuana, in part because it has become the most widely distributed drug on the black market. Marijuana is still highly popular among some teens and young adults, although it is now a less-common recreational drug.
Marijuana is also called “indica” because it is most closely related to the plant that produces the popular weed or cannabis indica. Indicas were first used by the ancient Chinese to help relieve pain, although the herb is also used for other medical purposes in the West. Today, indica is used for the production of pharmaceuticals such as aspirin and ibuprofen. It can also be used recreationally, especially among those who want to treat the same conditions that marijuana treats.
Marijuana is the active ingredient in marijuana, which means that it contains a compound called tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, which is found in the cannabis sativa plant. This substance is also present in many other herbs, but is most common in marijuana. In its purest state, marijuana has a lower concentration of THC than any other drug. However, marijuana is usually processed to make it more potent, so that it is easier to get high, and easier to smoke.
Sativa grows best in warm, sunny climates. It does not need as much water or fertilizer as indica. It also is more forgiving of soil damage because it is not as prone to rotting and losing its leaves. In growing marijuana indoors, you do not have to worry about the growth of mould and mildew as you do with indoor growing herbs, such as garlic, lemongrass, or basil. You can keep marijuana indoors year round because it will stay green and healthy.
Sativa does not have the same tolerance to pesticides as indica, so it is less likely to affect plants in that respect. Most people grow it outdoors, although it can be grown in containers or on balconies and patios, especially in areas that are exposed to direct sunlight and humidity. Indoor growing allows you to move the pot from one place to another if you move homes and move home to home.
Like other varieties of marijuana, sativa and indica also produce seeds. You can grow seedlings from seeds, but this is not recommended unless you have experience growing marijuana. The seedling plant is less likely to flower if it is not started off from a seed.
